Hot Air Balloon Festival 2022!

Firstly, A massive thank you to all our pilots and crew for giving up their time to put on a show over the balloon festival weekend in August, and thank you to all of you that turned out in the incredible heat we had over that weekend to support the festival.

We appreciate it!

We kicked off our three day festival with a day full of activities from dinosaur shows, falconry displays and circus workshops. Heading into the evening with a great variety of street food vendors, live entertainment to enjoy until we got our glow on at the night glow. This is were the balloons are inflated and flicker to music that everyone sings a-long to its fantastic!

Rise and shine for our morning ascent, each evening we encouraged everyone to join us for the 5am wake up over the weekend. We had morning flights Saturday and Sunday where we invited spectators to bring a chair and enjoy a coffee and breakfast from our OBCafe’

and watch over 17+ balloons take off together into the Norfolk skies.

Sadly, we were unlucky over the weekend to not have any early evening flights that we had scheduled. Due to the heatwave conditions our balloonists noted that due to thermals which create columns of rising warm air

which displace the air above causing up and down drafts. These can sometimes affect the pilot's level of control and with crowds of people it becomes unsafe to fly. Despite this we still had plenty for everyone to take part in along with two amazing morning flights and night glows that was enjoyed by so many!

For anyone that missed The Balloon Festival 2022 our tickets are sold as day tickets, weekend and camping so you can enjoy just one day with us or wake up to the sound of fans and inflating balloons from your tent or camper.

Thank you again to everyone that supported our second festival and we hope to see you again next year!
